Greetings!!!

Welcome to the Official Blog of Lions Club of Damansara Metro New Century, formerly known as Ipoh Metro New Century (IMNC). For more than 5 years Serving with Passion in Ipoh and its surrounding, we have decided to move and relocate to the Selangor regions solely becaus emany of our members are currently based and working in the Klang Valley. Hence, with that, we have decided to rename our club and rebrand it to Damansara Metro. Embarking on a new journey in a new environment, as the President for the club, I would like to thank all those who have supported us and guided us all this while.. and thank our Zone Chairperson Lion CS Low and Region Chairperson Lion Soong Kok Hoong for welcoming us into their family very quickly.

We wish to continue serving passionately, as we Believe in making a difference to the community, environment and the country. Within 2 months of our relocation, we have organized several projects, namely an Online Merdeka Wish campaign where Facebookers who wish to send a Merdeka Day wish can submit their whackiest, coolest or funniest photo via our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/DamansaraMetro), along with a 10 word slogan of what Merdeka Day means to them. Winners with the most 'likes' would walk away with cash and prizes totaling RM1000.00 and above!!!! Here are some of the samples of those who have taken part...!

FROM KL-TAIPEI-SEATTLE
In the month of July, our club was represented in the LCI International Convention.. Lion Simon Leong and myself travelled to the USA and we were very proud to be 2 out of 6 from District 308B2 who attended the convention.
At the beginning of the Parade!
PID Ellis Suriyati was also there!!!
One for the album... MD308!!!! ROARRRRRRRRRRRR!
I was also given the opportunity to be a panelist at the ECO FORUM where I addressed all the District and Multiple District Environmental Chairperson. The other 2 panelists were PDG Sharon Eldor from Oregon and PDG Ken Hallam from Australia. I touched on the M.A.D (Making a Difference) topic and what my club and the Leo Clubs in our district have done during my term as District Chairperson for Leo Clubs back in 2009-2011.

One for the album...! It was a great experience... Roar!
M.A.D Projects and our branding.. attracted lots of queries! :
Well.. so far that's all for the month of JULY, and we have some really exciting stuff coming up in August....! Stay tuned to more M.A.Dness coming from the Lions Club of Damansara Metro N.C....!
